- "Roll of the Dice" is the third single from our upcoming album of the same name.I initially took this song, which I had written, to Marco Giovino, and we discussed his production ideas. Bob Keyes (guitar) and I (vocals) worked on the arrangement. This new album features several tracks with Larry Campbell, who also handles production on certain songs. For "Roll of the Dice," Larry played pedal steel alongside Bobby and Kevin Barry on guitars, with Marco Giovino and his Nashville go-to bassist, Byron House, holding down the rhythm section. Marco wanted to add a bit of edge to the pedal steel, so he ran it through an old Magnatone or possibly a Silvertone to give it a touch of vintage distortion.Larry’s input on the arrangement was invaluable. After some rearrangements, I adjusted the cadence of the lyrics to match the new structure. Mixing was handled by Gus Berry and Tim Phillips. With this album, we're taking things in a slightly different direction. Tracks like "The Mule" and "It's My Turn" reflect this shift. Some songs are produced by Marco Giovino (known for his work with Robert Plant), while others are produced by Larry Campbell (Levon Helm, Bob Dylan). We feel very fortunate to have worked with such talented producers and musicians."Roll of the Dice" is about navigating the uncertainty of a relationship—where you never quite know what's coming next. Hopefully, this album will provide listeners with a similarly unpredictable experience, though perhaps with a little less angst! 🤷♂️A huge shoutout to all our Mystix fans for your incredible support of our music and live shows. There are more singles to come from this album, and we hope one or two will catch your ear.– Jo, Bobby, and The Mystix#SpotifyBlues #BluesMusic #OutlawBlues #AmericanaMusic #countryblues
